About Gerald
A fighter forged by working-class values.
Gerald McGonagle was born and raised in Northern Ireland, the son of a working-class family of four brothers. In 1980, he came to this country on a soccer scholarship — and worked his way through school taking construction and industrial plant jobs to pay his living expenses. He didn't arrive with advantages. He built them.
Growing up in a working-class family and earning his way through college and law school gave Gerald a first-hand understanding of the injustices that exist in the workplace. He vowed to fight for the people who put in a 40+ hour work week — to obtain justice through the legal system for those who couldn't fight on their own.
"There is not a higher calling than representing hard-working people — to obtain just compensation for their injuries and ensure that corporate and insurance industries take responsibility for their actions."
Gerald's belief has always been that the judicial process is one of the last great equalizers. When a corporation tries to outspend and outlast an injured family, Gerald levels the field. He has spent his career forcing insurance companies and corporate defendants to take responsibility — and securing the just compensation his clients deserve.
"The corporate and insurance industries have unlimited resources. What they don't have is the right to deny justice to a family who has already suffered enough. That's where we come in."
